FAQ + Pricing

How long do keratin bonds last?

Keratin bonds typically last 3–5 months, depending on your natural growth cycle, hair density, shedding pattern, and how well they’re cared for at home.

Will keratin bonds damage my natural hair?

When applied and removed by a properly trained specialist, keratin bonds are considered one of the safest extension methods available. When paired with proper at-home care, which is simple and clearly outlined, your natural hair remains healthy underneath, allowing the extensions to be worn comfortably and responsibly from install to removal.

Can I style my hair like normal?

Absolutely. You can heat style, air dry, braid, or wear your hair up. Some clients will even be able to wear their hair half-up.

What’s the maintenance like?

Keratin bonds are designed for freedom between installs with no required maintenance appointments. A recommended blow-out check in helps monitor grow out, especially for first time clients, but otherwise maintenance is simple: follow your personalized at home care plan, brush daily, keep hair tangle free, and secure it while sleeping.

Can I bring my own hair?

No. Tailored Honey does not accept outside hair. Quality, consistency, and performance cannot be guaranteed unless the hair is sourced directly through Marissa’s vetted suppliers. This standard ensures every install meets the level of refinement and longevity expected.

My hair isn’t straight and I mostly wear it natural. Am I a candidate?

Yes, and you’re an ideal candidate. Texture matching is one of the greatest advantages of custom keratin bonds and the only extension method that truly allows extensions to be air dried naturally when crafted and installed correctly.

Can I swim with my extensions?

Yes. Hair can be sourced specifically to perform well in both salt water and chlorinated water. To protect the integrity of your extensions and your natural hair, it’s essential that your hair is always secured in a braid or bun before swimming. Proper preparation and aftercare ensure longevity, softness, and seamless wear even with an active lifestyle.

What is the investment for a set of custom keratin bonds?

Investment varies based on your starting point and desired outcome. On average, you can expect:

Volume installs (adding thickness only): $1,500–$1,900

Adding length to naturally thin hair: $2,000–$2,500

Adding length to average-density hair: $2,600–$3,000

Adding length to naturally thick or blunt-cut hair: $3,000+

Final pricing is influenced by color customization, texture matching, length, and the amount of hair required to achieve a seamless, natural result. Take-home products are included with every extension service and lunch will be provided and delivered for longer install appointments.
